Nous Research is a venture-backed US open-weights lab producing fine-tuned models such as Hermes and decentralized training infrastructure. Because it is incorporated and operated in the United States, any hosted services it provides carry US CLOUD Act and FISA Section 702 exposure, though its open weights can be deployed independently on European sovereign infrastructure. The organization does not publish formal EU AI Act Article 53 compliance packages or independent security audit certifications.
